You should consult a doctor if you have following symptoms along with fever:

If fever continues for more than 48 hours

Baby below 3 months old having temperature ≥100.3 F

Diarrhea or vomiting that lasts > 12 hours

Cough that produces green, yellow and tan or bloody mucus

If fevers comes and goes and with night sweats and swollen lymph nodes

A low-grade fever which comes and goes for a week or more.

When body temperature is above 103 degrees after using medicines and other cool-down measures like cool compresses on head, under the arms or taking a cool bath.
When fever is an emergency?
Immediately take medical treatment if any of the following symptoms occur with fever:

Severe headache or seizures

Cool down procedures can’t get the temperature down

Confused mental status

Skin rash which worsens and spreads

Chest pain or Breathing difficulties

stiffness and Pain in neck

Nausea, vomiting or severe stomach pain
