Tips for Migraine Prevention

If you are one of the "migraineurs", you know how painful the symptoms of migraine can be. Symptoms of migraine like nausea, dizziness, vomiting, sensitivity to light, sound and odours can affect everyday life. Considering poor response to pain killers, it is better to predict migraine symptom development and prevent it early. Here are some tips to avoid migraine headaches:

  • Avoid foods like chocolate, red wine, cheese and caffeine containing products or anything that triggers migraine in you
  • Avoid irregular meal and sleep well
  • Exercise regularly
  • Riboflavin (vitamin B) and magnesium can help to reduce the frequency of chronic headaches
  • Avoid loud noises and bright lights

Keep a headache diary which will help you to keep a track of migraine triggers. Keep a note of what you eat, drink, exercise schedule, your emotions, any medications, time, length and severity of headaches

Reduce your stress by practicing meditation, yoga or breathing exercises, listening to calm music can help as stress is one of the common triggers of migraine
