  • Jackfruit including seeds is very nutritious as well.
  • Jackfruit is rich in proteins, carbohydrates, dietary fibers, magnesium, iron, potassium and vitamin C. This richness makes it very nutritious. Jackfruit seeds also contain medically important phytochemicals such as tannin, phytic acid, saponnin, etc.
  • Besides, jackfruit has several other benefits. Jackfruit seeds have a low glycaemic index, and jackfruit has an intermediate glycaemic index, which means it releases glucose slowly avoiding a sudden increase of sugar in the blood. So can be consumed by people suffering from diabetes, of course in lower quantities.
  • It is also found to have anti-cancer properties.
  • Studies have also shown that it reduces bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol, thus is helpful to improve cardiovascular health.
  • Jackfruit is found to improve digestive health.

Like any other food, moderation is important while eating jackfruit, especially for those who are suffering from diabetes.
