How to Prevent Anxiety?

Anxiety is one of the most common forms of emotional disorder that can affect any person at any age. In life, everyone, including children may experiences anxiety. Anxiety Symptoms differ from one person to another. Some common symptoms of anxiety include nervousness, restlessness, feeling of danger, rapid breathing and rapid heart rate. Following are methods to avoid anxiety.

  • Stress reduction: - In anxiety, reducing the stress is most important. Find ways to relax. To relieve stress, do exercises like take walk regularly, join gym or practice yoga. In addition, you can plan for vacation. Do things that make you feel better and more relaxed.
  • Control Your Breathing: - Many men and women with anxiety suffer from poor breathing habits. Take more controlled, slower, and shallower breaths, using the following technique:
  • Breath in slowly through your nose for about 5 to 7 seconds.
  • Hold the breath for about 3 to 4 seconds.
  • Breath out slowly through pursed lips like you are whistling for about 7 to 9 seconds.
  • Repeat this exercise for ten to twenty times.
  • Eat well: - Take healthy diet regularly, which includes fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Avoid eating sugary, greasy, high fat foods. It makes anxious people feel better both mentally and physically. Remember that what feeds your body also feeds your brain.
  • Avoid unhealthy substances: - Avoid taking tobacco, alcohol and drugs which increase anxiety in body.
