Coconut oil, is it good or bad?

Coconut oil is extracted from coconuts. It contains fats known as medium chain triglycerides (MCTs). Mostly coconut oil is used for cooking purpose. It protects against diseases like arthritis, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and also helps to lose weight. Coconut oil contains lot of saturated fats that boosts HDL or good cholesterol.  However, if excess of coconut oil is taken it can increase LDL or bad cholesterol. But it is less harmful to your heart health than saturated fat or animal-based fats like cheese and steak or products containing trans fats.
