5 diseases of summer that you should beware of

In summer the temperatures are very high and it may cause variety of diseases. Here are some top 5 summer diseases.

Heat stroke: - It is one of the common summer diseases. In this disease the body temperature increases gradually. Symptoms include difficulty in breathing, high body temperature and rapid pulse. If it is not treated it may lead to complications like coma or even death. To prevent heat stroke avoid going outside in suns peak hours especially 11 am to 4 pm. Cover the body with comfortable clothes.

Loose motions: - Loose motions are mainly caused by eating contaminated food and drinking impure water. To avoid loose motions drink boiled water and eat washed fruits and vegetables.

Dehydration: - In summer due to extreme heat and humidity body loses lot of water and sodium, which results in dehydration. Symptoms include dry lips, headache, nausea, dizziness and dark urine. To prevent this drink plenty of water with electrolytes and take fruit juices regularly.

Chicken pox: - Chicken pox commonly occurs in children. It causes red rashes or boils all over the body. To prevent this vaccine is available, hands should be washed thoroughly, isolate the person suffering chicken pox.

Jaundice: - It is caused by taking contaminated food and water. Symptoms are dark coloured urine, yellow discolouration on skin and itching of the skin. To prevent jaundice avoid eating food in unhygienic places and drink only filtered or boiled water.
