This has been a year of fear and uncertainty, from the fear of contracting coronavirus for ourselves or our loved ones to the feeling that the world outside our doors is a dangerous place. It has only been compounded by restriction/lockdown being implemented again. Many of us are feeling the heat of second wave anxiety. Opening of Schools/Colleges/offices – Even though such institutions are adhering to all of the COVID protocols announced by the government. But there has been little control over the public's COVID appropriate behavior, many of whom are not adhering to the necessary COVID protocols. This led to the transmission of the virus by several asymptomatic carriers.

A New Mutant Strain – A significant rise in the number of infected cases was caused by the virus' double mutant variant. Scientists feel this strain is approximately 70 times more infectious than the previous strain.

The silver lining

Although the number of cases is shooting up daily and creating a new high each day but death rates are low as compared to the previous wave.
